Helen B. Gilliland

Helen Brooks Gilliland, 74, of Monroe, NC, wife of the late John Thomas Gilliland, passed with her family by her side Friday, May 20, 2016.

Born in Greenville, SC to the late Homer Brooks and Jeanell Owens Gunter.

Helen was a member of Moose Lodge #2427 and Disabled Veterans, loved her son, grandkids and great-grandkids, and was very devoted to her family.   She married the love of her life and they were married for 54 years before his passing in 2011.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy "J.R." Ramey (Priscilla) of Monroe, NC; brother, Richard "Danny" Rivers (Jean) of Lexington, SC; sister, Gail Murphy (Alan) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Jimmy "J.J." Ramey (Amber), Helen "Shelly" Warren (Ben) all of Monroe, NC, and Tonia Igo (Pat) of Stanford, VA; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, May 22nd at 10:00AM in Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley with Rev. Lawrence Keever officiating.   Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.

Family will receive friends Saturday, May 21st from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made to the family for funeral services, to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615 or to the charity of one's choosing.
