HELEN C. LEE - Clemson

Helen Chamblee Lee, 84, of 101 Wyatt Ave, and wife of Howard E. Lee Jr., died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at her residence.

Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late David Furman and Mattie Lucretia Little Chamblee. She was a retired D.W. Daniel High School teacher, was a 1942 graduate of Winthrop College, earned her masters degree from Clemson University and was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Howard E. Lee III and wife, Marilyn, of Greenville, NC, David F. Lee and wife, Carol, of Columbia, SC and Tim R. Lee and wife, Kathy, of Greenville, SC; and five grandchildren, Matthew, David Jr., Harding, Amanda and Austin.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lee was predeceased by three brothers, Furman Divver "Abe" Chamblee, John Chesley "Pitt" Chamblee, and Lawrence Clifton "L.C." Chamblee; and six sisters, Ruby Vermelle Collins, Miriam Louise Chamblee, Ruth Ann Wesley, Eunice Ella Chamblee, Frances Rodgers, and Eugenia McGill.

The family would like to extend their special thanks and appreciation to Nancy Miller and Tammy Greene of Guardian Home Care.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central with burial to follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery in Clemson. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Upstate SC Chapter, 521 North McDuffie Street, Anderson, SC 29621 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
