Helen R. Hopkins Maxwell, 91, of 106 LeAnn Drive, died Thursday, August 2, 2007, at her home.

Born in Franklin County, GA, the daughter of the late Walter and Olivia Osborne Hopkins, Mrs. Maxwell was a Licensed Practical Nurse having formerly worked at St. Francis Hospital and later at the McLawhorn Clinic in Fountain Inn. After moving to Gwinnett County, GA, she worked as a private duty nurse until her retirement. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church in Lilburn, GA.

Mrs. Maxwell was a wonderful artist and touched many lives with with her paintings. She was known for her loving nature and had many friends of all ages. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Carlene M. Decker and her husband, Mark, of Upstate New York, and Carole Maxwell of the home; a brother, Hugh Hopkins of Chattanooga, TN; and two grandsons, Kevin S. Jennings of Port Orange, FL, and Christopher T. Jennings and his wife, Stephanie, of Mauldin.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Oak Baptist Church, 1352 Martin Nash Road, Lilburn, GA 30247.

The family is at the residence.
