Mrs. Helen Glymph Nuckols, 86, of 310 Mt. Airy Church Road, Easley SC, died Saturday February 7, 2009 at her home.
Mrs. Nuckols was born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Olin L. and Hildagard Schultz Glymph. She retired from Union Carbide Laboratory in 1982, attended Lander University, helped establish and was the first librarian for the library in Piedmont, and was a longtime dedicated member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
Mrs. Nuckols is survived by her husband, James N. "Nate" Nuckols; three sons, David B. Nix (Sherry) of Stockbridge, GA, James N. Nuckols Jr, (Ruth) of Woodruff, SC and Phillip T. Nuckols of Piedmont, SC; one brother, Carl H. Glymph of Augusta GA; one sister, Dorothy Gravely of Sandy Springs, SC; 7 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Leo Glymph; and one sister, Audrey Glymph.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Monday at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Keith Shorter officiating.
Burial will follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery, Fairplay, SC.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM, Monday, prior to the service at the church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 210 Mt. Airy Church Road, Easley, SC 29642.
