Helen Stansell Owen, 73, beloved wife, mother and grandmother,of 101 La Vista Drive, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late William Abner and Grethel Cantrell Stansell, Helen was employed with Family Practice Associates of Easley with twenty-two years of service. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where she belonged to Inspiration Sunday School Class.

Surviving are her husband, David "Hub" Owen of the home; two sons, Tim Owen and Sammy Owen (Melissa), both of Easley; three brothers, Mack Stansell, and Ralph Stansell, both of Easley and Wade Stansell, of Powdersville; three sisters, Olive Surratt and her twin sister, Ellen Sponsler, both of Easley, and Linda Davis of Mauldin; four grandchildren, Haily Chapman, Johna Owen, Raigan Owen and Carter Owen; and a great-grandson, Owen Crouchman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Owen was predeceased by a brother, Carl Stansell and a sister, Lucille Smith.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Monday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642 or to Pickens County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 2611, Easley, SC 29641.

The family is at the residence.
