Helen Waldrop Rackley, 80, of 323 Cedar Rock Church Road, wife of the late Olen Javie Rackley, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at Hospice of the Upstate.

Born in Greenville County, the daughter of the late Alton David and Otince Looper Waldrop, Mrs. Rackley retired from Swirl, Inc., and was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church.

Surviving are a special niece, Darlene and her family, Diamond and Frankie, who were her caregivers and whom she loved dearly. Also surviving are a great-niece, Charlene Barrett, great-nephew, Krizjian Barrett; a sister-in-law, Cecile Waldrop, and a close friend, Veda Ellenburg. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rackley was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Rackley Powell and a grandson, Jerry Wayne Powell.

Private funeral services will be at noon Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Jack Shook officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation for family and close friends will be from 11:00 until noon Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Upstate for their loving care of Mrs. Rackley.
