Henrietta Augusta Goerler Hurst, 91, of 150 Downs Boulevard, Apt. A-211, died Friday, October 24, 2008 at Clemson Downs Health Care.
Born in Irvington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Max Curt and Anna Heuer Goerler. Mrs. Hurst obtained a B.A. in Education from Montclair State University, and then began teaching at Rahway High School in Rahway, NJ. She later taught at the University of Missouri and then at D.W. Daniel High School in Central. She was a member of Clemson United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Victor Hurst of the home; a son, William "Bill" Hurst and wife Tommye of Clemson; three daughters, Ann Hurst of Orangeburg, Ruth Hurst and husband Tom Wiebe of Chapel Hill, NC, Ellen Griffith and husband David of Trenton, NJ; and six grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Goerler.
