Henry Duane Bodie III, husband of Peggy Corry Bodie, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.

Henry was born in Columbia and raised in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. He was a son of Adelaide Rutland Bodie of Batesburg-Leesville, SC and the late Henry D. Bodie Jr. He was a 1969 graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School, earned a B.S. degree in Psychology from Presbyterian College and served in the SC National Guard.

He spent most of his life in the propane industry with Palmetto Propane, and for the last 15 years was V.P. of Business Development for Blossman Gas/Alliance Auto Gas. He was a past President of the South Carolina Propane Gas Association, the Batesburg-Leesville Civitan Club, and the Clemson Cotillion Club. He enjoyed playing pool and golf, fishing, and being with his friends in "The Garden Club". He was a master story teller, an avid Clemson baseball fan, and was proud to be Grandy to Ty, Katie and Leah.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are daughters, Sara Bodie (Danny) Goldrick of Richmond Hill, GA and Amy Rutland Bodie of Pendleton, SC; brother, Bob (Donna) Bodie of Pauline, SC; sister, Martha Bodie (Joe Ben) Herlong of Johnston, SC; grandchildren, Ty and Katie Goldrick and Leah Bodie-Smith; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, William R. Bodie.

Funeral services will be 3 PM, Wednesday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church (Central, SC), where he was a member. Reverend Gene Aiken will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
