Henry Samuel Crawford, 69, a resident of Emerald Gardens Assisted Living of Greenwood, formerly of Clemson and Anderson, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Reverend Henry Clifton and the late Mildred Owen Crawford. Sam retired after 23 years service as a computer programmer at Clemson University and was an avid Clemson Tiger fan. He was of the Baptist faith. Sam was a graduate of DW Daniel High School and Forest College.
Surviving are his daughter, Shannon Crawford Allen and grandson, Grayson Allen, of Greenwood; and sister, Millicent Owen of Central. Sam held a very special relationship with his only grandchild, Grayson, who was known as the apple of his PeePaw's eye. The two of them could discuss Tiger football and basketball for hours. Grayson could always make his PeePaw smile.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with burial to follow in Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:50 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
