Henry Jones Phillips, 95, formerly of South Fifth Street, husband of the late Nelle Mauldin Phillips, died Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Greenville County, a son of the late Henry McDuffie and Dora Lee Jones Phillips, Mr. Phillips was a retired brick mason and a member of First Baptist Church, Easley, for 80 years and a volunteer and Chaplain for 40 years with the Easley Fire Department.
Surviving are a son, Henry Earl Phillips and wife Marjorie of Williamston; two grandsons, David Phillips and wife Maryanne and Kevin Phillips and wife Lisa; four great-grandchildren, Alisha Williams, Amanda, Jessica and Justin Phillips.
Funeral services will be 3 PM, Sunday at First Baptist Church, Easley with Rev. Dr. John Adams and Rev. Dave Shorter officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 1:30 to 3 PM Sunday in the Sanctuary of the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 East First Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the home of Henry Earl Phillips, 6025 Highway 81 North, Williamston, SC 29697.
