"Herb" Wilson

Mr. "Herb" James David Wilson, 83, husband of Janet Hamlin Wilson, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Taylor Roy Wilson, Sr. and the late Elna Iona James Wilson, Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Pickens High School and was a retired swimming pool builder and manufacturer representative. He was a Hejaz Shriner and a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.
To all that knew Herb, he was the legend in the swimming pool industry. He was a hard worker and devoted his time to helping others. Herb will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of sixty-three years, are his daughter, Alicea W. Garrett and her husband, Michael Garrett, of Easley; his sons, Chris Wilson and his wife, Ashley Hogan Wilson, of Easley, and Jeff Wilson of Easley; two sisters, Carol Dickard of Easley, and Pat Clardy of Liberty; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Herb was predeceased by his brother, Taylor Roy Wilson, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Rodney Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
