Herbert F. Entrekin, 91, of Red Fox Road, Central, husband of Janie Reid Entrekin, died Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Anderson Medical Health Center. He was born in Pickens, SC on January 9, 1915 and was the son of the late Jason M and Nancy Jones Entrekin. Mr. Entrekin was a WWII veteran and retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service. He also retired from the SC Forestry Service after 28 years of service and was a member of the Praters Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sisters: Edith E. Newton of Central, Mildred E. Greene of Seneca, Juanita E. Duncan of Charleston and Ida Lou E. Nations of Winston-Salem, NC. He was predeceased by sister, Era E. Raines.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 29 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Harper officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 - 3pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church, PO Box 1912, Clemson, SC 29633.
