Mr. Herbert Ellwell "Herb" Freeman, 85, of Greenville, loving husband of the late Velion Wilson Freeman, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his residence.
Herb was born in Pickens, SC on February 14, 1931 to the late Wilton T. Leonard and Pauline Lesley Freeman. He loved his family, especially his six children, restoring old cars, coin collecting, and in his later years, his dog named Becky. He owned H.E. Freeman Construction Company and built over 1200 residential homes and some churches.
Herb is survived by three sons; Wilton Alexander Freeman of Greenville, Michael Randy Freeman of Leesville, SC, and Bryan Ellwell Freeman of Enoree, SC; three daughters; Cathie Freeman Rhodes of Six Mile, Faye L. Renaud of Lexington, SC, and Paula Ann Freeman of Greenville; two brothers; Lesley Freeman of Mauldin and Rodney Freeman of Little Rock, Arkansas; and five sisters; Evelyn Taylor of Mauldin, Lenora McGraw of Simpsonville, Margie Jones of Liberty, Joan Perzak of Greenville, and Carol Satterfield of Easley. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Frederick Renaud, Scott Reames, Phillip Rhodes, Jody Freeman, Daniel Freeman, and Taylor Freeman; and eight great-grandchildren; Courtney Renaud, Chandler Renaud, Andrew Reames, Matthew Reames, Damion Rhodes, Lochlan Rhodes, Bright Rhodes, and Cynthia Breazeale.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, 305 W. Main Street, Easley, with the Rev. Clyde Mabery officiating. Interment will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the Funeral Home.
