HERMAN AMMONS - Pendleton
Herman Ammons, 82, of 102 Plantation Drive, died Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Anderson Area Medical Center. A native of Raeford, N.C. he was a son of the late Cleveland and Mary Gregory Ammons. Mr. Ammons was a proud veteran of WWII, serving with the U. S. Marines in the Pacific Campaign and also the Korean conflict. He was a professional photographer and owner and founder of Ammons Photography in Greenville, S.C..
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Robinson Ammons, and a son, Gregory Ammons of Pendleton, 2 grandchildren: Mary Catrin and John Gregory Ammons; sister: Addie A. Hagins and sister-in-law: Lillian Ammons of Lancaster, SC
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 11, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Lancaster Memorial Park, 1389 Memorial Park Drive, Lancaster, S. C. The family will receive friends following the service. (Location will be announced at the conclusion of the service.) In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to to a fund to benefit the families of WWII veterans: c/o of Palmetto Bank of Pendleton, 7721 Clemson Blvd., Pendleton, SC 29670.
