Herman Franklin Riggins, 88, of 210 Bedford Road, and husband of Louise Underwood Riggins, died Thursday, September 11, 2008.

Born in Poquoson, VA, son of the late Linwood and Ruth Edwards Riggins, he was a retired chemist with the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC, a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, and was US Army veteran of WWII.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three step-sons, William Akers, of Newport News, VA, Jerry Houston and wife, Sherri, and Lloyd Houston; one step-daughter, Ginger Young; 8 grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum at Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley,SC 29642.

The family is at the home.
