Herman Richard Sorrells, 84, of 474 Johnson Road, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his home.
Born in Oconee County, the son of the late Rev. Ernest R. and Clemar Lee Sorrells, Mr. Sorrells retired from Pittman's Textiles in Greenville and was a veteran of the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Burdette Sorrells of the home; a son, Rev. Alan R. Sorrells (Debra) of York; a daughter, Helen Venable Owens (Mike) of Easley; and four grandchildren, Amanda Weatherford (Ray)and April Venable and Justin Sorrells (Keah) and Rebecca House (Sam).
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
The family is at the residence.
