Herman Leander Voyles, 81, husband of Sarah Smith Voyles, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2010. Born in Gainesville, FL he was the son of the late Erik and Bertie Haulbrooks Voyles. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II serving on the USS Gilmore. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by daughters: Kimberly Voyles Dickson and husband Larry of Seneca and Teresa Voyles Smith of Clemson; brother, Richard Voyles and wife Colleen of Seneca; grandchildren Heather Dickson, Megan Dickson Lee and husband Bradley, Kelsey Dickson, Jason Nathaniel Smith and Eric Christopher Smith; great-grandchildren, Braxton and Landon Lee.
Funeral services will be 3pm Sunday at East Clemson Christian Fellowship with burial to follow at Memory Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2pm prior to the service. The family will receive friends at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home Saturday from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Clemson Christian Fellowship, 519 Issaqueena Trail, Clemson, SC 29631 or to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672
