Heyward Julius (Tooter) Sweet, 72, of 1820 Arial Street, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at his home.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Louis Franklin and Christine Fortner Sweet. Mr. Sweet was retired from Alice Manufacturing, was a member of Elljean Baptist Church and loved to fish and hunt.

Mr. Sweet is survived by a son, Chad Sweet (Amy) of Powdersville; three daughters, Lisa Ann Chandler (Roger) of Slabtown, Deneen Trotter of Liberty and Tammy Duncan (Allen) of Easley; four grandchildren, Brandy Duncan McAlister (Cody), William Anthony Shaver, Nicholas Heyward Sweet and Caroline Marie Sweet; three sisters, Pat Cantrell of West Palm Beach , FL, Bobbie Stephens and Louise Youngblood of Easley .

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sweet was predeceased by his wife Carol Ann Sheppard Sweet and three brothers, Ronnie, Bill and "Cotton" Sweet.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.
