Heywood B. Cantrell

Heywood Bolt Cantrell, 76, of 2206 Liberty Highway, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at his home after a long illness.
Born in Six Mile, a son of the late William Bolt and Willie Mae Mann Cantrell, he was a superintendant in home construction for many years in Atlanta, GA and later was the Supervisor of Construction at Road Atlanta. Mr. Cantrell was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church and a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Jaen Waldron Cantrell of the home; two sons, David Cantrell of Douglasville, GA and Brad Cantrell of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Betty Hudson of Athens, GA and Karen Nance of Snellville, GA; four sisters, Iona Dodson of Pickens, Margaret Brown of Inman, Wilma Burkett of Six Mile, and Linda Schreck of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six grandchildren, Alan Moncrief, Madison Cantrell, Samantha Cantrell, Joshua Nance, D. J. Cantrell and Blake Cantrell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Horace Cantrell.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Revs. Ray Longenecker and Jimmy Anthony officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 PM, Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
