Hollace Kay Ellenburg Hamid, 64, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in Anderson from a heat stroke.
Hollace was born in Easley on Decemebr 9, 1946, a daughter of Ralph M. and Helen Patterson Ellenburg of Liberty. In addition to her parents, Hollace is survived by her two children, Tariq Gibran Hamid of Deland, Florida and Tara (T.K.) Hamid Redick, of Memphis, Tennessee; her brother, Ralph M. (Mac) Ellenburg, Jr., of Liberty; her sisters, Heather McConnell of Black Mountain, NC and Gwen Ellenburg, of Liberty; and three grandchildren, Jon Austin Redick, Caroline Kay Redick, and Jack William Gibran Hamid.
Hollace graduated from Clemson University. She received a B.S. degree in accounting and a Masters Degree in psychology.
Hollace always went out of her way to help someone in need. Anyone who had the blessing of knowing Hollace will forever remember her huge heart, compassion for others, and the love that she showed to everyone around her.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Monday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Easley. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foothills Humane Society, 500 Five Forks Road, Liberty, SC 29657.
The family is at her parents, 768 Breazeale Road, Liberty, SC 29657.
