Hoyt Samuel Clarke, 93, of 254 Sid Edens Road, died Tuesday October 3, 2006 at Oakmont East Nursing Center in Greenville.
A native of Pickens County, he was a son of the late Leonard Oscar and Roxie Massingill Clarke. Mr. Clarke retired from Tinsley Chevrolet in 1974. He was a member of Oolenoy Baptist Church since 1932, the Sam Poe Masonic Lodge #284 in Greenville, the Scottish Rite and the Hejaz Shrine.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Edens Clarke, of the home ; a son, David Bryan Clarke, of Midway, Tennessee ; two grandchildren, Eric David Clarke and Cindy Clarke Schumacher ; two great-grandchildren, Erica Clarke Thomas and Mitchell Clarke and two great,great-grandchildren, Brooke and Donald Schumacker.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm in Hillcrest Memorial Park conducted by the Reverends Richard Burgess and Mickey Thomas.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm, prior to the service, at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown Chapel.
Memorials may be given to Oolenoy Baptist Church, 201 Miracle Hill Road, Pickens, SC 29671.
The family wishes to thank to staff at Oakmont Nursing Center and the Hospice workers for their care of Mr. Clarke.
