Hubert Eugene Grant, 86, of 111 Edgewood Ave, died November 25, 2008, at Palmetto Health Baptist, Easley.
Born in Greenville, a son of the late Eugene and Janie Bell Grant, he retired from Fiber Industries after 23 years and was a member of Jones Ave Baptist Church. Mr. Grant was a USNavy Veteran of WWII, having served for 3 years, 4 months, 2 days and 15 minutes, and also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Surviving are his wife, LaVerne Owen Grant of the home; one son Larry Eugene Grant, of Pickens; two daughters Linda Shaw (Mike) of Liberty, and Anita Murphy (Tom) of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren Allison McDowell (Curtis) and Andrew Shaw; and his beloved dog, Pete.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Clifford Grant and James Grant.
Funeral Services will be 11 AM, Friday at Jones Avenue Baptist with Rev. Dr. Roger Couch and Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 AM, Friday prior to the service.
The family is at the home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Jones Avenue Baptist Church, 614 Ross Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
