Hugh Robert "Bobby" Robbins, Jr.Powdersville, SC


Hugh Robert "Bobby" Robbins, Jr., of 127 Robbins Drive, Greenville, loving husband of Alice Gillespie Robbins, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta, GA.


Bobby was born in Greenville County on March 3, 1951 to the late Hugh Robert, Sr. and Carolyn Davis Robbins. He graduated from Carolina High School and was the second generation owner and operator of Robbins Tire in Greenville and Powdersville. In his younger years, he loved racing, and passed on the love of racing to his son. More recently he enjoyed farming, antiquing, bee-keeping, and his apple trees. Bobby was a member of Crosswell First Baptist Church. He was a very loving and passionate man who loved his family, friends, and his church family.


In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, Bobby is survived by a son; Robby Robbins (Melanie) of Easley; a daughter; Christie R. Ballew (Randy, II) of Powdersville; and a brother; Dennis R. Robbins of Powdersville. He is also survived by their special nephew and cousin; Jessie Link Clark; a very special aunt; Connie Allison; a special friend to the family; Dorla Fowler; and a host of loving Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Gloria Browning.


Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 3, 2016 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642. Interment will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.


The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.


The family will be at the home of his son; Robby, 212 Mercury Court, Easley, SC 29642.
