Inez Powell Snider

Jessie Inez SniderCentral, SCJessie Inez Powell Snider, 91, of 131 Vickery Lane, formerly of Anderson, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Brookdale Central.  The fifth of seven children, she was born on September 2, 1924, in Anderson, to Benjamin Franklin and Effie Jessie Jordan Powell.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She was a graduate of Hardin private school and Carolina School of Commerce.  She was employed by AnMed Health for 17 years prior to her retirement and was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church in Anderson.In 1947 she married Glenn Olden Snider, and they spent 52 happy years together until his passing in 1999.  Besides parents and husband, she was predeceased by siblings (eldest to youngest) Hubert, Minnie Lee, and Frank Powell, Lillian P. Harris, Ruby P. Gentry and Juanita Powell.She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eric H. and Anne Harshman Snider of Clemson; two grandchildren, Adam Snider of Washington, DC and Eva Grouling Snider of Muncie, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central.Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday at Evergreen Gardens in Walhalla.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all employees of Brookdale Central, who provided loving care during the last nine years.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or at the funeral home.
