Eva Irene Crane Hawkins, 96, of Central, wife of the late Harold Gaines Hawkins, died Friday, February 9, 2007. Mrs. Hawkins was born May 4, 1910, to Fred and Leila Billingsley Crane. She was a life-long homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the last surviving charter member of the Central Church of God, Central, SC, where she served her church faithfully as church clerk, teacher, prayer warrior, faithful member, and liberal giver to God.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Aleatha and Bryan Smith, Barbara and Julian LeRoy, and Rachel Hawkins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benny Joe and Norma Hawkins and John and Pat Hawkins. She leaves seven grandchildren, Jim, Wanda, Dawn, Mark, Sheri, Chris and Susan, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sister, Hattie Lee Pressley, Christine Oates, and Jeanette Landreth. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Mattie Simmons and three brothers, Billy, Earl and B.F. Crane.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 12, 2007 at 2pm in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the funeral home prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to The Central Church of God Building Fund, 204 College Street, Central, SC 29630 or to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672.
