Irene Gular Smith Snipes, 98, of 149 Hovey Lane, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
Born in Six Mile, she was a daughter of the late David Daniel and Tillie Jennings Smith. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three sons, Bobby Snipes of Gastonia, NC, Richard Snipes, Harold Snipes, both of Easley; two daughters, Frances Pilgrim of Six Mile, Rachel Bryant of the home; three brothers, Elmain Smith of Anderson, Sam Smith of Abbeville, Rufus Smith of Rock Hill; a sister, Lula Mae McCollum of Six Mile; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Floyd B. Snipes; two sons, David Snipes, Floyd Snipes, Jr.; and a daughter, Christine Gray.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with Reverends Blair Stewart and Rudy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday from 1 PM until 2 PM at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her son, Harold Snipes; 110 Oakwood Drive; Easley, SC 29640.
