Irmgard Johanna Beck

Irmgard Johanna Beck, 85, of Central, wife of John White Beck, Jr., passed away November 30, 2023.

Born in Essen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Karl Cyprian and Johanna Erna Hisserich. Irmgard was a homemaker and former employee of H&R Block in Seneca. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Clemson and the local German community, and an active supporter of the Clemson University and Daniel High School German programs where she coached students for Declamation Contests. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, and singing.

Mrs. Beck is survived by her husband of 56 years, John White Beck, Jr.; daughter, Katrin Marie Beck of Clemson; sons, Patrick John Wania and wife Nora of Braunschweig, Germany and Thomas Kevin Beck and wife Katalin of Central; her siblings in Germany Karl-Heinz Hisserich and Gertrude Weigel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lily, Julia, Anna, Leon, Mathilda and Martin; her great-grandchildren Leila and Akelas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Reinald, Marlis and Christel Hisserich.

Her memorial service will be held December 22 at 2 pm at the Duckett - Robinson Funeral Home in Central followed by a reception.
