James R. 'Bobby' Barkley
James R. "Bobby" Barkley, 73, of 1213 Breazeale Rd. Easley, died on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Barkley was born in Pickens County a son of the late Hovie and Bessie Nix Barkley.
He was retired from Alice Mfg. Co and the U. S. Army. and was a member of Bates Masonic Lodge 189.
Surviving are his wife Sue Nicholson Barkley, one son Johnny R. Barkley and his wife Tammy of Pickens; two brothers Connie Barkley of Easley and Kenneth Barkley and his wife Geraldine of Six Mile; one sister Linda Fink and her husband Duane of Gilbert, S.C. three grandsons, Matthew and Brian Barkley and Joshue Jenkins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Barkley was preceded in death by , a daughter, Tressa Jenkins, four brothers Henry, Guy, and Andy Barkley and Hoyt Kytle; four sisters, Betty Watson, Ruby Ogg, Sadie Knott and Fario Mae Chapman.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown and the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Open Praise Fellowship Holiness Church c/o Pat Saxton, 305 John St. Pickens SC 29671.
