J.D. Clardy, 87, of 137 Clover Street, and husband of Ellie Albertson Clardy, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Clardy was born in Norris, SC a son of the late John H. and Mary Melinda Stewart Clardy. He was a retired employee of Potter-Shackleford Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith. .
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home, are: 2 sons, Wallace F. Clardy and his wife, Carol, and David W. Clardy and his wife, Joan, both of Liberty; a daughter, Shelba C. Porter and her husband, Carlos of Pickens; a brother, B. C. Clardy of Liberty; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and Special Care-Giver, Darlene Clark of Easley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Clardy was predeceased by a brother, L.G. (Bud) Clardy and 2 sisters, Leola Willimon and Cora Carpenter.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Revs. Guy Roberts and William Heatherly officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:15 AM, Thursday prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home of the daughter, Shelba Porter, 634 Amberwood Road, Pickens, SC 29671.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pickens County Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box, 1162, Pickens, SC 29671. .
