J.B. Raines, 86, of 1397 Earls Bridge Road, and husband of Cora Medlin Raines, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Cassie Landers Raines. Mr. Raines was retired from Union Bleachery. He was a member of Jones Hill Church of God.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: sons, Archie Raines (Rita) of Pickens and Roger Raines (Sue) of Easely; brothers, Robert Lee Raines of Marietta and Claude Raines of Easley; a sister, Eula Holder of Easely, and a granddaughter, Carrie Raines of Easley. Mr. Raines was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday at Jones Hill Church of God, burial will follow at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SC Church of God Home for Children. PO Box 430, Mauldin, SC 29662.
