Jack Eugene Hopping

March 20, 1931 — April 6, 2020

Jack Eugene Hopping, 89, husband of Georgia Ooten Hopping, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Montgomery County, Ohio, a son of the late Lavon Lee Hopping and the late Dorothy Anderson Hopping, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, and spending time with family. He served as a police officer for twenty-five years for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department in Ohio. Mr. Hopping proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church in Easley.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of sixty-eight years, are a daughter Sherry Cassels (Robert) of Anderson; a brother, Richard Hopping (Pat) of Fullerton, CA; grandchildren, Ashley Davis (Michael) of Easley, Javan Cassels (Michelle) of Easley, and Dustin Cassels (Lauren) of Union; and great-grandchildren, Michael Davis, Breanna Davis, Cassie Davis, and Sumpter Cassels, all of Easley

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Glenwood Baptist Church.
