Jack Dempsey Howell, 93, husband of the late Peggy Hancock Howell, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Born in Peachland, NC, he was a son to the late Daniel and Essie Carter Howell. Jack attended Pendleton Street Baptist Church and proudly served in the Army. Always working with his hands, Jack had multiple hobbies including model airplanes and trains, coin and stamp collecting, and HAM radios. He enjoyed working in his yard and had a very meticulous spirit. He also was kind hearted and was an avid animal lover. For most of his career, Jack was in different aspects of bank security.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by daughter, Sonya Howell; son, Timothy Howell; brother Richard Howell and numerous half siblings.
Jack is survived by his three daughters; Sharon Sims (Freddie), Cynthia Porter (Allan), and Jackie Stokes (Billy); two bonus children, Angela Hitch (Bob) and Matthew Howell; grandchildren, Kim Dickerson, Courtney McIntyre (Mike), Anthony Howell (Ashley) J’ Daniel Howell (Amanda), J’ Michael Howell; a special family friend, Wayne Reynolds; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home- Powdersville Road. A graveside service will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
In remembrance of Jack Howell, let us celebrate a long life well lived and a legacy that will endure for many years to come.
