Jack Leverne Mooneyhan, Sr., 78, went home to be with his Lord on January 8, 2009. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 47 years, Martha Knotts Mooneyhan whom he dearly loved and missed until his death.

Jack was born September 3, 1930 in West Columbia, S.C. to the late Levi Stephen and Ruth Miller Mooneyhan. Jack was also pre-deceased by a sister, Irene Rish (Jesse) and a brother Robert Thayle Mooneyhan (Anne).

He was a 1952 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor Degree in Textile Manufacturing and a Master's Degree in Industrial Management. Jack was also the starting left tackle for Clemson in their 1950 Orange Bowl victory. Jack spent 25 years in the U.S. Army before retiring as a Colonel in 1977. He spent the next 15 years at Tri-County Tech where he served as the Department Head of Management Development. Jack was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Easley, where he served as Deacon, Superintendant of Sunday Schools and Sunday School teacher. He served as a member of the Baptist Hospital Foundation for ten years.

Jack is survived by his four children. Jacqueline Elizabeth Mooneyhan, Simpsonville, SC, Jack Leverne Monneyhan, Jr. (Joan), Aiken, SC, Rena Mooneyhan Turner (Gene), St. Matthews, SC and John Stephen Mooneyhan (Donna), Lincolnton, NC ; two sisters, Esther Mae and Lena Ruth Mooneyhan, West Columbia, SC ; four grandchildren, Jenny Mooneyhan Clark (David), St. Cloud, Florida, Lauren Nicole Mooneyhan, Charlotte, NC, Joshua Stephen Mooneyhan, Lincolnton, NC and Joel Leverne Mooneyhan, Aiken, SC; two great-grandchildren, Noah McKay and Caia Elizabeth Clark, St. Cloud, Florida.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday January 11, 2009 in the narthex at First Baptist Church, Easley, with a celebration service immediately following at 2:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
