Jack Earl Mulkey, 74, of 403 Bethlehem Ridge Road, husband of the late Catherine Dorsey Mulkey, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at R.M. Campbell Veterans Center.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Luther and Mattie Ross Mulkey, Mr. Mulkey retired from the Pickens County Stockade where he managed the county farm. He was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church was a veteran of the US Army.

Surviving are two sons, Patrick Mulkey of the home and Chuck Mulkey and wife, Renea, of Anderson; a sister, Sarah Hogge of Florida; four grandchildren, Lance Cpl. Justin Mulkey and wife, Marisa, of Camp LeJune, NC, Cheyene Mulkey of Pickens and Claudia Mulkey and Easton Mulkey, both of Anderson; and a great-grandson, Tucker Mulkey. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Mulkey was predeceased by four brothers, Billy, Kenneth, Darrell and Dwight Mulkey, and by a sister, Mick Hogge.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday at East Pickens Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and will be placed in the church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Friends will also be received at the home of Chuck and Renea Mulkey, 133 Amberwood Drive, Anderson, SC 29621.

The family is at the residence.
