Jack Randal Whitehead, Jr, of Easley and husband of Mary Catherine Sons Whitehead, died Sunday, January 21, 2007. He was a beloved husband and wonderful father.

Born in Macon, Mississippi, a son of Jack Randal Whitehead Sr., of Brandon, MS and the late Mae Miller Whitehead.

He was a graduate of Missisippi State College, was a retired businessman, a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a former Mason and member of Gideons International. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and former Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home,and his father, are, sons, Jack Randall Whitehead III of Pelzer, David Andrew Whitehead of Easley; daughters, Celeste W. Harris of Pickens and Tammy W. Tyssen of Dacusville; brother, Robert Miller Whitehead of Brandon, MS; sister, Carol Rose Murphy of Hattiesburg, MS; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Mae McIntyre.

Services will be 4 PM, Wednesday at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Revs. Larry Smith and Mark Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family is at the home.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1618 Dacusville Highway, Easley, SC 29640.
