James, (Jim) Alvin Fowler, 70, of Liberty, SC passed away peacefully Monday afternoon at his home following a brief illness.
James is survived by his wife, Brenda, two children, Paige Fowler Vaughan, (Brian) of Simpsonville and Travis Fowler, (Dana)of Pickens, stepchildren Brandon Brown of the home and Anna Brown Dalton, (Brett )of Pickens and, grandchildren Madison Vaughan, Katie, Emily and Matthew Fowler, Regan Dalton and Linnea and Jaxson Brown; a brother, Roy V. Fowler, Jr. (Olivia) of Liberty, a brother, Ricky Morris Fowler, (Dora) of Liberty and sister, Martha Fowler Snyder,(Don)of Fountain Inn.
He was of the Baptist faith. Jim was retired from Fowler Construction Inc. of Liberty, SC where he was a general field superintendent, where he oversaw new construction and renovations of numerous BI-LO and Harris Teeter grocery stores. Previously he had worked in the same capacity at Potter-Shackleford Construction Company in Greenville, SC. He specialized in industrial projects, including Regal Textile Mills in Tryon Georgia, the Adidas Warehouse in Greenville, and Universal Music Group, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed Taylors First Baptist Church.
Jim was a talented musician playing the guitar and mandolin and had also been a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church gospel quartet.
He was predeceased by his parents, Roy Vesco Fowler and Louise Pilgrim Fowler of Greenville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Ducket-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC.
Graveside Committal services will be 11 AM, Friday at Greenville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating.
Following the graveside service the family will then proceed to Liberty First Baptist Church where a Memorial service will be held at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Grace Hospice Foundation, 704 East Greenville St., Suite 1C, Anderson, SC 29621 or Miracle Hill Children's Home of Dacusville SC.
The family will be at their respective homes.
