James L. Allen

James L. Allen, Jr. 81, husband of Mary Miles Allen, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Hospice House of Anderson. A native of Pendleton he is the son of the late James. L. and Mary Allen, Sr. Mr. Allen was a graduate of Clemson University and was active in his church, the Pendleton United Methodist Church, as well as the community, serving as a town councilman. He was the owner and operator of the Miles & Crenshaw Cafe and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, S. Lamar Allen and his wife Judy of Rome, GA, sister, Doris Roper of Central and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30pm at the Pendleton United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm and will be placed in the church on Sunday at 1:30pm.
