James Ray Cantrell, 72, died April 17, 2011 at his residence. A native of Salem, he was the son of the late Clyde and Minnie Johnson Cantrell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion, Post 151 and also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, #292.
He is survived by daughter, Debbie Eller and husband, Dennis, of Liberty; brothers, Bobby Cantrell of Sandy Springs and Sammy Cantrell and wife, Margaret of Sandy Springs; sisters, Lynda Wilbanks and husband Pat of Pendleton and Brenda Rhodes and husband Ricky of Pendleton; grandchildren, Rachael and Sabrina Eller and special friend, Shirley Chappell. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Sue Cantrell and son, James Ray Cantrell, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1pm in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral in Central with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family is at the home of Dennis and Debbie Eller, 523 Garvin Road, Liberty, SC 29657.
