James L. Cobb, Sr., 91, husband of Anne Mitchell Cobb of Clemson Downs, died Thursday, August 31,2006 at Clemson Downs.
Born December 7, 1914 and the son of the late Robert and Mattie Cobb. He worked for Spring Mills and later retired from J.P. Stevens after 24 years of service. He was a member of Clemson United Methodist Church since 1952 and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 71 years are son James L. Cobb, Jr. and wife Nina of Clemson, daughter Jane Wolfe and husband Billy of St. Simons, GA, four grandchildren; Eric Lane and wife Sarah, Anna Lybrand and husband Jason, Sarah Whittaker and husband Arron, and 3 great-grandchildren; Harper, Ellis, and Anna Ross.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11amat Old Stone Church Cemetery then immediately following, the family will receive friends at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Rd. Seneca, SC 29672.
Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
