James Thomas Cox, 73, of 3265 Six Mile Highway, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.

Born in West Union, he was the son of the late Norman and Ruth Crenshaw Cox. He was the owner/operator of Cox Trucking Company for over 23 years and was a member of Seneca Church of Christ where he was a former Deacon. He was a veteran of the US Army having served from 1955-1957 with the 10th Division Rangers.

Surviving are his wife, Sue Alexander Cox of the home; a son, David Richard "Ricky" Cox and wife Sherry of Homestead, FL; three granddaughters, Heidi, Tisha, and Courtney Cox; and two step-sisters, Ann and Mildred.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Reverend Adam Richardson officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum in Pickens.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeastern Children's Home; P.O. Box 339; Duncan, SC 29334.

The family is at the home.
