James E. "Pap" Cryer

Mr. James Earl "Pap" Cryer, 72, husband of the late Linda Treadwell Cryer, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018.
Born in Gibson, TN, a son of the late Robert Uin and Laura Marie Chesser Cryer, Mr. Cryer retired from Easley Combined Utilities and was of the Baptist faith. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.
Surviving are two daughters, Janice Baugh (Jeff) of Tennessee, and Patricia Conner (Kirk) of South Carolina; two sons, James Cryer of Colorado, and Glenn Cryer (Ember) of Arkansas; four sisters, Margie Hartling and Frances White, both of Nevada, Louise Hermann of Illinois and Floetta Walden of Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren, Michael Wofford, Ashley Farley, Chris Baugh, Andy Day, Adam Day, Kaylie Cryer Brianna Cryer, Lydia Crowley, Ashley Conner, Brooke Conner, Christian Conner, Chase Conner and Samantha Conner; and three great-grandchildren, Emily Farley, Bentley Farley and Kiasia Wofford. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Cryer was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Cryer Nelson; two brothers, Charles and Robert Cryer; and a grandson, Austin Deck.
Funeral services will be noon Friday, February 23, 2018 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
