Mr. James Wesley Dickerson, 93, of 215 Cedar Circle, husband of Ruth Boaz Dickerson, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born November 27, 1917 in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Theodore and Margaret Tinsley Dickerson. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army and was a retired electrician with Saco Lowell Corporation. Mr. Dickerson was a lifetime member of Bates Lodge 189 A.F.M. in Easley, a former Deacon at Hunts Memorial Baptist Church in Newberry and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, he is survived by his daughters, Mary Curtis (Donnie) of Greenville, and Rita Hummel (John) of Virginia; sons, John W. Dickerson (Patsy) of Georgia, and James Dickerson of Louisiana; sister, Edna Hamlin of Greenville; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Randolph Dickerson and John T. Dickerson.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.

Escort of honor will be the Prayer Warrior Sunday School Class.

The family is at the home.
