James Landren Ellis, 82, of 200 Baynard Street, husband of 63 years to Frances Dorsey Ellis, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital following an accident.

Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Edna Proctor Ellis. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII and was a retired supervisor at Saco Lowell. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sisters-in-law, Patsy Wood and husband Jim of Easley, Dorothy McClellan of Liberty; a brother-in-law, Bill Dorsey of Liberty; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Landren Dorsey Ellis.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends Friday night from 6 PM until 8 PM and will be placed in the church at 10 AM on Saturday.

Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Children's Home; 3931 White Horse Road; Greenville, SC 29611.
