James Edward “Jimmy” Finley, Jr., beloved husband of Patty Guthrie Finley, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 07, 2026.
Born on July 29, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late James Edward Finley and Grace McCoy Finley.
Jimmy was a proud graduate of Liberty High School, where he laid the foundation for a career that would see him rise to the important role of general superintendent for M. B. Kahn. His expertise and leadership in construction earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. His sense of duty extended beyond his career; he served faithfully for seven years in the Army and National Guard. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his loved ones.
Jimmy was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and Homemakers Bible Fellowship Class.
In addition to his wife, Patty, Jimmy was survived by his two sons, Shane Finley (Kristina) of Liberty, South Carolina, Andy Finley( Misty) of Easley, SC; a daughter, Lacey Finley Holden (Josh) of Pendleton, SC; and grandchildren, Johnson Finley, Sam Finley, Karson Finley, Bradli Finley, and Kady Holden, Aubree Lewis and Nova Gorgone ; two sisters, Susan F. Bagwell ( Larry) and Lisa Oglesby of Liberty, SC.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his loving mother, Grace McCoy Finley and his father, James Edward Finley.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the chapel of Rock Springs Baptist Church, followed by burial in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family will accept flowers.
