Mr. James Ernest Gillespie, 78, husband of the late Bobbie Leila Batson Gillespie, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Buford Lee Gillespie and the late Laura Ann Medlin Gillespie, Mr. Gillespie retired from J. Grady Randolph Trucking with over twenty-five years of service.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Gillespie and Lee Gillespie, both of Easley; a brother, Wallace Gillespie of Easley; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Gillespie was predeceased by two daughters, Joyce Ross and Doris Robinson; a brother, William Gillespie; a grandson, Stanley Robinson; and a great-grandson, Travis Pierce Craft, Jr..

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at the home of his son, Larry Gillespie.
