James H. Gilstrap

James Henry Gilstrap, 76, husband of Martha Ann Browning Gilstrap, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, September 1, 2018.
Born in Dacusville, SC, a son of the late Thomas Burns Gilstrap and the late Bernice Albertson Gilstrap, Mr. Gilstrap retired from Alice Manufacturing with forty-six years of service and later worked the Pickens County Recycling Center. He was a member of Tremont Church of God and attended New Spring Church with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of fifty-seven years, are a son, Michael James Gilstrap of Easley; two daughters, Melissa Gilstrap Batts, and Amy Gilstrap McAbee (Scott), all of Easley; two sisters-in-law, Reba Gilstrap of Easley, and Catherine Gilstrap of Pickens; five grandchildren, Brady Gilstrap, Malorie Schumann (David), Tyler Batts (Sammy-Kaye), Jordan McAbee (Kelli) and Kelsea McClimon(Blake); and one great-granddaughter on the way.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilstrap was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas R. Gilstrap, Sr. and Lamar Gilstrap.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Mr. Tyler Batts and Mr. Scott McAbee officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:15 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
