James Edrew Hendricks, 88, husband of Shirley Cox Hendricks, passed away February 10, 2022.
Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Lem and Rhoda Grey Hendricks. Edrew served his country in the United States Army and retired as a mechanic in the textile industry. He has been a faithful member of Newry Church of God for the past twenty years. Mr. Hendricks enjoyed building race cars, hunting, fishing and anything that involved being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of twenty three years, Shirley Cox Hendricks; son, Rodney "Chubby" Hendricks of Six Mile; step-children, Eddie Wade (April) of Liberty, Suzanne Edwards (Terry) of Seneca and Kayla Freeman (Jay) of Easley; sister, Frances Hickey of Pickens; granddaughter, Shannon Carlisle (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Kinlee Ann and Karsyn Carlisle; step-grandchildren, Savannah, Olivia, Ryker, Zachary, Will, Brianna, Hannah and Tanner.
Edrew was predeceased by his parents; first wife, Helen Edna Hendricks; siblings, Cleo, Bill, Morris, Jesse, Bessie, Juanita, Lois and Nell; step-granddaughter, Madeline.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Newry Church of God, 234 Newry Road, Seneca.
Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery, Liberty.
