James Franklin "Frank" Hitt , 67, husband of Margaret Stewart Hitt, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late George Kannon and Irene Griffin Hitt, Mr. Hitt was employed with NAI Earl Furman Company as a maintenance technician for thirty years, and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two brothers, Johnny Hitt (Annette), and Jackie Hitt (Jill); five sisters, Josephine Jameson, Linda Looper (Rev. Jim Ed), Barbara Williams (Dan), Alma Jeffcoat, and Gladys Dunlap (James); a sister-in-law, Claudette Hitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hitt was predeceased by two brothers, Allen and George Hitt; two brothers-in-law, Jim Jeffcoat and Junior Jameson; and two nieces, Jessica Hitt and Pam Spellen.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
