James Buddy Hood, 76, of 308 Dupont Drive, and husband of Betty Davis Hood, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at the Hospice House of Anderson.

Mr. Hood was born in Norris, SC, a son of the late Lawrence Guy and Lydia Clardy Hood. He was retired from Hittman Nuclear Transport Co. of Oakridge, TN, and attended Northside United Methodist Church in Greenville. He was a charter member of Wade Hampton Masonic Lodge #404, a member of Hejaz Shrine Temple, South Hillsborough, Florida Elk Lodge #2672, James F. Daniel American Legion Post #3, National Campers' Club #139, W.B.C.C.I. Region 3 Camping Club, and the V.F.W. Post #10330. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served in the 187th Field Artillery.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a sister-in-law, Jane L. Hood of Easley; and a grandson, Grayson Cupit Hood of Memphis, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hood was predeceased by a son, Danny Hood and a brother, Guy Hood, Jr.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Reverend Barry Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family is at the home.

The family wishes to thank his many friends for their support, prayers and visits during his illness. They also express their apppreciation to the nurses of the fifth floor of Greenville Memorial Hospital for their care.
