James Lloyd "Jim" Hill, Sr., 86, of Biltmore Road, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Kinston, NC, he was a son of the late Joe Lloyd Hill and Nora Lee Farmer Hill.
Jim was retired from Combined Utilities in Easley after 25 years of service. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and teacher with the Bruce Kelly Sunday School Class. Jim was an Ordained Minister who loved his Lord, his family, Clemson Football, traveling the world with his wife and videoing the places they traveled. He also proudly served his country in the US Army.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Barbara Sharpe Hill; a daughter, Debbie McNeely of Easley; a son, James Lloyd Hill, Jr. (Shelby) of Seneca; grandchildren, Crystal G. Thornburg (Brian) of Belmont, NC and Tyler R. Garrett of Detroit, MI; great grandchildren, Brody and Bailey Thornburg; a sister, Faye Handy of Macon, GA; and brothers, Ronnie D. Hill of Murfreesboro, TN and Billy K. Hill of Winston Salem, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son-in-law, Brian McNeely; and sisters, JoAnn Long and Gertie Strickland.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. Joel Logan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM at the church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Children's Home, 3931 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
The family will be at the home.
